Computer Engineering Degree Programs

The earliest computers—including the ones that helped send American astronauts to the moon—took up entire rooms and cost hundreds of millions of dollars. A generation later, computer engineering has made machines many times more powerful than those that powered Apollo 11 affordable to millions of people.

In order to meet the need for qualified computer engineering professionals, our IT schools offer bachelor and master’s degree programs related to computer engineering.

Growing Need Should Fuel Growing Opportunity

Opportunities within the computer engineering field are expected to grow over the next ten years. For example, the Bureau of Labor Statistics anticipates that computer software engineering will add 295,200 job openings through 2018, a 32% increase over current levels.*

Computer Engineering Degrees: What You Can Learn

At all levels, our IT schools teach students enrolled in computer engineering programs fundamentals of hardware and software development, along with project management and other professional competencies. Topics covered may include:
  • Computer architecture
  • C++ and other programming languages
  • Circuit analysis
  • Object-Oriented programming methods
  • Testing and troubleshooting
  • Solid State Physics

The depth and complexity of course topics will depend on the level of the degree. Bachelor degrees are an entry-level qualification, while master’s degrees are for those who hold a bachelor’s and seek advanced skills.
